From Rough Patch To Resurgence: How Coach Rajesh Nagar Revived Yash Dhull's Form

Emerging from a turbulent phase, Yash Dhull's cricketing journey has turned heads once again. After leading India to the 2022 U-19 World Cup, Dhull's form seemed to waver, marked by setbacks and scrutiny.

Yet, this season, the 21-year-old's bat has begun to speak volumes, with Dhull scoring his second century of the Ranji Trophy season-a brilliant 121 against Chandigarh, followed by a solid 58 in the second innings. Despite Delhi's loss by nine wickets, Dhull's resurgence reflects a relentless pursuit of excellence.

Yash Dhull coach Yash Nagar

Rajesh Nagar, Dhull's coach, remains at the heart of his comeback. "This time, Yash has done a lot of good preparation," says Nagar. "He had a good U-19 World Cup and made an impressive Ranji debut, but after that, he hit a rough patch. That's normal in any career. Now, he's really focused on both his physical and mental aspects. I spoke to him recently-he's in a good zone and ready to perform even better this season."

Nagar points to minor adjustments rather than sweeping changes in Dhull's technique. "We didn't work on much, just refined his trigger movement and head position, and we talked about mental toughness. If that's strong, scoring runs isn't an issue," explains Nagar, who is also the coach of Anuj Rawat.

He recalls Dhull's innings against Karnataka, highlighting his controlled play in the 'V' area, calling it "a very disciplined performance".

As for the upcoming IPL auction, Nagar believes Dhull's focus is firmly on Ranji. "The IPL is secondary; perform well in Ranji, and the world will notice. Right now, Yash's aim is clear-score big, stay grounded, and let his game do the talking."

With each match, Yash Dhull is proving he's more than just a young talent-he's a player ready to fight his way to the top. For now, Dhull's eyes remain on his Ranji performances, as he continues to build his game, one solid knock at a time.
