Colombo, July 20: Out of cricket action for nearly four months, India opener KL Rahul is excited to take the field in Sri Lanka in the 3-Test series starting next week.
Rahul and the rest of the Indian team landed in the island nation today (July 20) for the Test rubber which begins on July 26.

Ahead of the five-day matches, India will face President's XI in a two-day warm-up match from tomorrow (July 21). The focus will be on Rahul, who is returning from a long injury lay-off.
The Karnataka right-hander sustained a shoulder injury during India-Australia Test in Pune in February. However, he played the entire 4-match series in pain, till March 28. Later, he missed the Indian Premier League (IPL) in April, May and also the ICC Champions Trophy in June.
Now, back to full fitness and in the team, Rahul is looking forward to perform at his best in Sri Lanka.
After landing in Colombo on Thursday, he took to the micro-blogging website Twitter to say that he was excited to be back in the national team.
"Excited to be back with Team India after a long break. Fun times ahead in Sri Lanka. 😀🤙 #feelingathome," he wrote with his picture at a hotel in Colombo.
The 25-year-old Rahul has so far played 17 Tests, scoring 1,200 runs. He has hit 4 hundreds and 7 half centuries. He has also featured in 6 One Day Internationals and 8 Twenty20 Internationals.
