Ganguly to retain sole captaincy of KKR

Mumbai, Apr 1: Sourav Ganguly has been retained as the sole captain of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) ending week long speculations and controversies.

New Zealand wicket keeper Brendon Mc Cullum will be vice-captain of the team. Sourav Ganguly met team owner Shah Rukh Khan and coach John Buchanan in Mumbai on Tuesday, Mar 31. The meeting was held at Shah Rukh Khan's home.

According to sources, Ganguly will be retained as skipper and his performance will be evaluated after the first few games.

When asked about the row, Shah Rukh Khan opined that it was matter of miscommunication which was blown out of proprotion.

"I think there is a lot of over-reaction and rumors about him being removed from captaincy.But that is completely untrue," the Bollywood star said.

Earlier King Khan had also said that there is no KKR without Dada.
