Ganguly confident of India's victory against Pakistan

By Super Admin

Kolkata, Sep. 26 (ANI): Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has expressed confidence about India's victory against Pakistan in their opening match of ICC Champions Trophy the Centurion.

"India will win; it will not be a problem if they (Yuvraj Singh and Virendra Sehwag) are not playing. Rahul (Rahul Dravid) will play,' Ganguly told reporters while visiting a 'pandal' during the ongoing Durga Puja festival.

India is set to take on Pakistan in a Group 'A' match of ICC Champions Trophy later on Saturday.

Yuvraj Singh will miss the Champions Trophy due to a fractured finger.

The aggressive left-hander suffered the injury during a fielding session in Johannesburg on Wednesday, three days before his team's opening match against Pakistan, and has been replaced by Virat Kohli.

And India, one of the favourites to win the eight-team tournament, have also lost explosive opener Virender Sehwag and pace bowler Zaheer Khan to injury and are still sweating over the fitness of opener Gautam Gambhir who has a groin strain.

India has been grouped with defending champions Australia, former winners West Indies and Twenty20 champions Pakistan in the preliminary phase. (ANI)
