Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir, a former Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) MP, reportedly received death threat on the day of the Pahalgam terror attack from "ISIS Kashmir" with the two e-mails containing the word "IKillU."
According to ANI news, Gambhir approached the Delhi Police on Wednesday (April 23), seeking immediate action after he received these death threats via e-mail. The former cricketer formally requested the registration of a First Information Report (FIR), according to officials from the Rajinder Nagar Police Station and the DCP Central Delhi.

Gambhir has urged law enforcement authorities to take all necessary steps to ensure the safety and security of himself and his family as the report adds that the Indian head coach received two threatening emails-one on April 22 in the afternoon and another in the evening-both containing the message "IKillU."
The report further added that the Delhi Police are expected to investigate the matter thoroughly and implement appropriate security measures to safeguard Gambhir and his loved ones given the severity of the threat.
This all comes after a brutal attack in Pahalgam on Tuesday (April 22) left 26 civilians dead when terrorists opened fire on tourists in the Baisaran meadow, making it one of the most horrific incidents since the 2019 Pulwama terror strike.
Also, this isn't the first time Gambhir has received such threats. The former Indian opener had reportedly received a similar back in November 2021 during his tenure as a sitting Member of Parliament (MP).
Meanwhile, Gambhir on on Tuesday had Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Gambhir condemnned the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. "Praying for the families of the deceased. Those responsible for this will pay. India will strike," Gambhir wrote on his X platform.
