Gautam Gambhir Has 'Anger Issues,' disrespected Sourav Ganguly: Manoj Tiwary

By MyKhel Staff

Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary has made serious allegations against Gautam Gambhir, accusing him of having "anger issues" and disrespecting former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly.

The shocking claims came to light during Tiwary's recent interaction on The Lallantop, where he recounted an altercation with Gambhir during a 2015 Ranji Trophy match between Bengal and Delhi at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

According to Manoj Tiwary, Gambhir insulted Ganguly, who had recently been appointed as the President of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). "He was constantly abusing, and I remember he even criticized Dada (Sourav Ganguly). He said things like, 'He used his sources to reach where he is, and you followed him too,'" Tiwary revealed.

Tiwary stated that he conveyed Gambhir's comments to Ganguly, who brushed it off, saying, "It's fine." However, the incident left Tiwary deeply upset, and he added, "After that day, there's no scope for us talking or meeting. You can clearly see he has anger issues."

Recalling the fiery exchange during the Ranji Trophy match, Tiwary claimed that Gambhir verbally abused him and even insulted his mother. "I've never heard such abuses. If someone abuses your mother, you can't take it quietly. I asked him, 'Gauti bhai, why are you talking like this?'" Tiwary said.

The situation escalated further when Gambhir reportedly threatened Tiwary, saying, "Meet me in the evening, I will thrash you." Tiwary responded, "Why evening? Let's do it now."

The former Bengal skipper detailed how the umpires intervened but couldn't control Gambhir's outburst. "The umpire tried to come between us, but he even pushed him aside. After the over ended, I was at the non-striker's end, and he came to mid-off and continued abusing me," Tiwary said.

Tiwary also alleged that the umpires refrained from taking strong action against Gambhir due to his influence. "He is a big player, and they were afraid he could use his power against them," he added.

The accusations have sparked widespread criticism of Gambhir, who is already under fire for India's recent performances as head coach. Gambhir is yet to comment on these claims.
