Gautam Gambhir helps Rahul Sharma with Mother-in-Law's treatment, wins Hearts

Gautam Gambhir's name has been rolling on social media on Tuesday (May 9), but this time for all the right reasons.

Former India cricketer Rahul Sharma took to Twitter on Tuesday and expressed his gratitude for Gautam Gambhir, who helped in the medical treatment of Sharma's ailing Mother-in-Law. She was suffering from a brain haemorrhage and was in critical condition.

Rahul shared it was Gambhir who came to his aid. The former India player, who is also a Member of the Parliament with BJP, helped to arrange Sharma with a neurologist and helped his mother-in-law get admitted at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi.

He confirmed his mother-in-law went through a successful surgery and thanked everyone for their help and good wishes, especially mentioning Gambhir for his help. He also shared the picture of his mother-in-law after the surgery as she is on her road to recovery.

"Last month was very difficult. My mother-in-law had brain haemorrhage, she was in critical condition. Thank you Gautam Gambhir paaji & ( his PA Gaurav Arora) who helped me in such difficult time & he provided the best neurologist and hospital in such a short time and the surgery has been done successfully," Rahul Sharma's Twitter post read.

"Now she is absolutely fine. Thanks to Gangaram Hospital and their staff for excellent care. Special thanks to Dr. Manish Chugh, your compassionate treatment is miraculous," it added.

Gambhir is known for his philanthropic activities. The southpaw, who currently is the mentor of IPL team Lucknow Super Giants, has a foundation which supports the children of martyrs. It bears the complete cost of those children's education and provides career counselling.

After the Twitter post by Rahul Sharma, netizens' good wishes for his mother-in-law flooded in. And they also hailed Gautam Gambhir for his humanitarian activity.

"Gautam Gambhir bhae apke liye hamare man main izzat aur badh gaya (Gautam Gambhir Sir my respect for you has grown even more)", one user said.

"I am a big gan of the person who you are, Gauti Sir. You are straightforward and a pure gold by heart. Huge Respect for you," another user wrote.
