Gautam Gambhir, the head coach of the Indian cricket team, has heaped praise on Jasprit Bumrah, calling him the best all-format fast bowler in the world. Ahead of India's opening Test against Bangladesh, Gambhir lauded the 30-year-old pacer's ability to dominate in all three formats of the game.
"Bumrah is the best fast bowler in the world in all three formats," Gambhir stated during a pre-series press conference. He emphasized Bumrah's unique ability to change the game at any moment, which makes him an invaluable asset to the Indian team.

"It's great to have Bumrah in the dressing room, someone who can change the game at any point of time," Gambhir added. Bumrah's journey in international cricket has been nothing short of extraordinary. Since making his debut in 2016, he has transformed India's fast-bowling attack, becoming a force to be reckoned with on the global stage.
His unorthodox bowling action and consistency have made him a standout player across all formats. In Test cricket, Bumrah has claimed 159 wickets in 36 matches at an impressive average of 20.69. In ODIs, he has 149 wickets in 89 games at an average of 23.55.
His versatility extends to T20s as well, where he recently played a key role in India's victorious T20 World Cup campaign in the USA and West Indies, taking 15 wickets and earning the Player of the Tournament title. Gambhir also touched on how Bumrah's presence has shifted India's focus from being a batting-dominated nation to appreciating the significance of world-class bowlers.
"India is a batting-obsessed nation. But Bumrah, along with Ashwin and Jadeja, is changing that trend," Gambhir remarked. He further noted Bumrah's intelligence and adaptability in Test cricket, where the pacer has been known to excel even on spin-friendly pitches.
Without Bumrah, the Indian bowling attack often appears less potent. His ability to deliver in crucial moments, as seen during the T20 World Cup, where he produced match-winning spells against Pakistan, highlights his immense value. Bumrah's dismissal of Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam in the group stage exemplified his knack for stepping up when the team needs him most.
