Gautam Gambhir is in the middle of a massive speculation at the moment. The former India cricketer is linked with a move away from Lucknow Super Giants in IPL.
Gambhir was appointed as the mentor of Lucknow Super Giants since their inception in 2022. The former India batter has worked with the likes of Andy Flower and others at LSG for the last two IPL seasons.

Despite reaching playoffs on both occasions, LSG sacked their head coach Andy Flower and have appointed former Australia coach Justin Langer, who is set to take over the reins from next season.
Amid the hiring of Langer, questions have been raised regarding Gambhir's future at the franchise. Gambhir's controversy-ladden stint with LSG may come to an end as a move back to Kolkata Knight Riders is in circulation.
But will Gautam Gambhir join KKR next season as head coach? That remains to be seen as we can't come to a conclusion right now.
"As of now, Gautam Gambhir isn't going anywhere. He will remain with Lucknow Super Giants," an unnamed LSG source was quoted as saying by various reports. But in hindsight, there is still a chance that the former KKR captain may reunite with them.

Gambhir is a hugely loved personnel at KKR and his past associations make him a compelling character to have at the dugout. Gambhir won two IPL titles as KKR captain and knows the pulse of the franchise.
But it is to be seen even if he comes to KKR, what will be the role of the former India batter? Knight Riders appointed Chandrakant Pandit before IPL 2023 as head coach, and it looks unlikely that they will let go of the veteran before IPL 2024.
In that case, Gambhir can have the mentor role at the KKR camp and learn his trades further towards becoming a head coach in the future. Gambhir's close affair with KKR can be rekindled in future, but for now, it seems Lucknow will remain his abode for some time.
