India vs Sri Lanka, Gautam Gambhir Press Conference LIVE Updates: India's new head coach Gautam Gambhir is set to attend his first press conference before the Sri Lanka series.
Check Out what he has to say and get to know the latest updates here on MyKhel.

The new India head coach has asserted all of his support to Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Here is what he had to say on the India duo-
"I have had a lot of chats with Virat Kohli. We have shared messages. It's not important what messages we have had or how many chats we exchange. The most important thing is that we both have to be working hard to make India proud. I have huge respect for him as a player. Hopefully, we can work together well."
Gautam Gambhir confirms that the exact coaching staff will be revealed only after the Sri Lanka tour. He also believes both Nayar and Ten Doeschate can be the assistant coaches in the long term.
Gautam Gambhir says the 50-over and Test teams will be fairly same, but the T20 team may have a bit transition due to the retirements of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Ajit Agarkar also feels the same.
"I worked with Abhishek and Ryan and enjoyed it in IPL. They are thorough professionals. Hopefully, they can have a successful stint in the Indian team as it can't get bigger. Really looking forward to working with others (Bahutule and T Dilip) as well."
Agarkar On Rishabh Pant over Sanju Samson
"Rishabh's been a key player of us. KL has been terrific as well Unfortunately someone had to miss out, and it was Sanju this time. These guys will have to keep on scoring runs. Big Test series coming up and hopefully they can keep doing the good things."
Gambhir on Workload Management
"Workload management for someone like Bumrah is important. But for a batter, if they are in form, they can play all the games. For Rohit and Virat, they will be available for most of the matches. Workload management for fast bowlers become very very important."
"They have shown what they can deliver. I can be clear that both of those guys have a lot of cricket left. Especially with the Champions Trophy next year, they will have the motivation. If they can keep themselves fit, hopefully, 2027 World Cup as well. Looking at what Rohit and Virat can deliver, they have a lot of cricket left. Any team will want both of them," says Gambhir.
"I don't think any player takes it for granted. You want to perform. These discussions don't happen over time. These chats have happened before. Obviously a lot of thoughts goes in and you get a lot of feedbacks from the dressing room as well," Agarkar on changing the T20 captain.
Ravindra Jadeja is not dropped and was not picked as India can't accommodate both him and Axar Patel. Agarkar says the left-arm all-rounder is still in the scheme of things.
"Our challenge is to pick only 15 and find the best balance. You got to see who picked ahead of them. At this stage, we had an opportunity to give them an opportunity in the Zimbabwe series. Rinku missed out on the T20 World Cup, it is an example. He was excellent leading up to that. Sometimes it is the way it goes. That's generally the life of a player."
Gautam Gambhir says the best relationship is built on trust. He says he has a superb relationship with BCCI secretary Jay Shah.
"A happy dressing room is a secured dressing room. I don't complicate too many things. I am taking over a very successful team. I don't believe in head coach and players relation. I have a fabulous relationship with Jay Shah. We go a long way back and so far it has been a great relation. The betterment of Indian cricket is more important that Gautam Gambhir."
BCCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar says Suryakumar Yadav is a deserving candidate for captaincy. He also says Hardik pandya is an important player in the team but his fitness issue has been the biggest concern.
"We also feel Surya has necessary qualities to be a good captain. Two years is a long time. We want guys who are available all the time. In this way, we can manage Hardik a bit better. He is still an important player. We spoke with Hardik Pandya and he has been spoken."
