India head coach Gautam Gambhir has given a strong verdict after the recent stampede which happened outside of the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
After the IPL 2025 triumph, RCB's victory celebration turned into tragedy as 11 people lost their lives while several got injured in a stampede. Due to massive overcrowding, a few unfortunate souls lost their lives.

RCB announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for each deceased, and so did the Karnataka government. A FIR has also been launched against RCB for the mismanagement at the Cubborn Park police station in Bengaluru.
Amid this, the India head coach Gautam Gambhir has given his cutthroat verdict on the incident. Gambhir, during his press conference with Shubman Gill, condemned the incident and downplayed the importance of road shows, which eventually led to the death of these people.
"I am no one to hold anyone responsible. I have already talked about the tragedy that when I was playing I didn't use to believe in road shows. I even don't believe in it now and won't believe in future. Winning is important but much more important than that no life is lost," Gambhir said.
The India coach also emphasized that people must learn from this mishap so that no lives get lost in any future celebrations.
"In the future, we need to be more aware. Have it closed door or inside a stadium. It is very tragic what happened. We are all responsible. I hope nothing like this happens in future," he added.
India will be flying to England for the upcoming five-match Test series, starting from June 20. India are being led by Shubman Gill after the retirement of Rohit Sharma from Test format. The team will be without Virat Kohli as well, who also decided to call it quits from the red ball format.
