By MyKhel Staff

The highly anticipated Season 2 of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) is set to deliver another blockbuster edition, with a powerful West Indian trio reuniting on the grand stage.

From July 18 to August 2 in the United Kingdom, the cricketing world will witness Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, and Dwayne Bravo donning the maroon once again, this time representing the West Indies Champions.

This iconic reunion is bolstered by the presence of other seasoned campaigners like Sheldon Cottrell, Lendl Simmons, Dwayne Smith, Shannon Gabriel, and Shivnarine Chanderpaul-making the West Indies outfit one of the most exciting teams to follow in this season's WCL.

Back at the helm is the flamboyant Chris Gayle, who leads the team once again and expressed his delight about delivering on the promise he made to fans last year:

"Last year, I promised the fans that this season would be greater-and here we are. I'm back as captain of the West Indies Champions, playing alongside my brothers Bravo and Pollard. With this squad, expect nothing less than fireworks. West Indies cricket runs through our veins-we're here to win."

Bravo, who boasts an unmatched record of 631 wickets in 582 T20 matches, is thrilled to represent his country again:

"It's great to be representing the West Indies once again - I'm incredibly excited to play with and against good friends and cricketing legends. Polly and I have been good friends for such a long time. Now, we represent our nation once more in the World Championship of Legends."

Pollard, known for his explosive batting and cool leadership, also shared his emotions on reuniting with his long-time teammates:

"We played together for many years for West Indies and in franchise cricket - it's nice to be able to do that once again. For me too, coming back feels special. To once again wear the colours of West Indies Champions and compete with legends is something I couldn't pass up."

Ajay Sethi, owner of the West Indies Champions franchise, emphasized the emotional resonance of the trio's return:

"It's like reliving history. Chris, Bravo and Pollard returning, defines the golden era of West Indies cricket. These three have been the face of West Indies T20 success for years. Seeing them walk out in maroon again is emotional for fans and the cricketing world. This is not just a comeback; it's a celebration of legacy."

WCL Founder and CEO Harshit Tomar highlighted the unique vision of the tournament, which balances nostalgia with high-level competition:

"WCL is not just about retired players-we also focus on cricketers who are still active globally but not centrally contracted. Our goal is to offer fans elite-level cricket and nostalgia all in one. Gayle and Pollard were always favorites of mine, and now with Bravo in the mix, West Indies Champions look absolutely formidable."

Officially approved by the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB), the World Championship of Legends stands out as the only recognized global T20 league for retired international players. With big names, unforgettable rivalries, and cricketing pride on the line, the tournament continues to be a celebration of legends and their everlasting impact on the game.
