Gayle keeps his cool over Richards' comments

By Super Admin

London, Nov 14(ANI): West Indies skipper Chris Gayle has maintained his characteristic cool on comments made by former captain Vivian Richards about his commitment and attitude.

Richards had called on the reinstated skipper to "show that he wants to represent his people".

"That's life. You deal with the situation that occurs and move on. It doesn't make sense to have a fight with each other. We're all West Indian," The Age quoted Gayle, as saying.

Gayle was among the senior players who went on strike during the series against Bangladesh, and missed the Champions' Trophy.

The 30-year-old also admitted that the wounds from the protracted dispute within Caribbean cricket board are yet to heal.

"It kind of set us back, but at the same time, we have to move forward and try and forget about what happened in the past. It's a rebuilding process right now, but when I say rebuilding, we still have to give ourselves a good chance of winning and play good positive cricket at the same time," Gayle said.

"I try and create a good environment (as captain), get that unity on track. You want the support of each and every player," he added. (ANI)
