Chennai Falcons retain GEPL Season 3 title

National, August 10, 2026: Chennai Falcons kept their title in Season 3 of the Global e-Cricket Premier League, conceptulised by JetSynthesys, after beating Sara Tendulkar-owned Mumbai Grizzlies 2-1 in the best-of-three final on Sunday. The Falcons won the third match by two wickets after the series stood 1-1.

Peyush Bansal-owned Delhi Sharks finished as second runners-up, while Bengaluru Badgers, co-owned by Nikhil Kamath, Ankit Nagori and Prashanth Prakash, ended fourth. The league was powered by Real Cricket™ and drew business founders, investors and public figures as franchise owners and guests.

Top performers and awards

Mumbai Grizzlies' Jetha Ram finished as the leading run-scorer with 488 runs and won the Orange Cap. Nadeem of Chennai Falcons took the Purple Cap with 19 wickets. Deepak of Chennai Falcons, also the third-highest run-scorer, was named Emerging Player of the Tournament.

Jetha Ram was also named Most Valuable Player, ending the season with 488 runs and 14 wickets for Mumbai Grizzlies. The final drew stakeholders including Sara Tendulkar, Prashant Prakash, Dr. Cyrus Poonawalla, Sean Sohn, CEO of Krafton India, and actor and television presenter Mandira Bedi.

Reactions from franchise owners and JetSynthesys

Rajan Navani, Chairman of JetSynthesys, said Season 3 was the biggest proof yet of GEPL's aim to build a genuine sport, not just a tournament. He pointed to eight franchises, the league's first international broadcast, and a close final as signs of its growth.

Jogesh Lulla, Senior Vice President - Sports, JetSynthesys, said the season was the most competitive so far and praised Chennai Falcons for handling pressure. Sara Tendulkar said GEPL taught her how much work goes into e-cricket, while Gopal Srinivasan and Prashant Prakash also praised the league's depth.

Eight-franchise season and Season 4 plans

Season 3 expanded to eight full franchises with Kolkata Hawks, owned by Sonu Nigam, and Gujarat Wolves, owned by veteran esports player Scout, also known as Tanmay Singh. The other teams were Delhi Sharks, Bengaluru Badgers, Chennai Falcons, Mumbai Grizzlies, Pune Stallions and Hyderabad Rhinos.

JetSynthesys said GEPL set new marks in scale, viewership and international reach, and confirmed a fourth season. The company said plans are already under way to deepen the league's community and grassroots footprint.
