In the third match of Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024, Gujarat Giants (GG) and Mumbai Indians (MI) will lock horns on Sunday (February 25) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Beth Mooney-led Gujarat Giants will look to avoid what happened last season when they lost their skipper to injury and their campaign opener by a massive 143 runs to Harmanpreet Kaur's eventual champions Mumbai Indians.

Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, will look to remain unbeaten against Gujarat Giants, and also keep their winning momentum in tact after Sajeevan Sajana's last-ball six earned them 3 points in the curtain-raiser against Delhi Capitals on Friday (February 23).

During season 1 in the round robin stage, MI won the first encounter against GG at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, and Harmanpreet & Co completed the double over Sneh Rana's side in the reverse fixture at the Brabourne Stadium.
In the first fixture, Harmanpreet scored 65 off 30 balls to power MI to 207/5 against a wounded Gujarat Giants, who lost skipper Mooney to injury in the early stages of the chase and were bundled out for just 64 with Saika Ishaque (4 for 11) being the chief destructor.
In the reverse fixture, captain Harmanpreet smashed a 30-ball 51 laced with seven fours and two sixes to set a challenging 162/8 before Sciver-Brunt and Matthews claimed three wickets each to restrict Gujarat to 107/9.
