Reigning champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) open their Women’s Premier League title defence against Gujarat Giants (GG) when the two sides clash in match 1 of WPL 2025 on Friday (February 14) at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.
Smriti Mandhana-led RCB head into the tournament with a bout of injury worries as the defending champions lost four players from their title-winning campaign. RCB has signed replacements for the injured quartet, but will be hoping to get their campaign off to a winning start.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Giants, who switched captains ahead of the season, will hope for a better finish this season, having ended up as the bottom-placed side in the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Ashleigh Gardner is the new captain at the helm, replacing her compatriot Beth Mooney in the role.
RCB and GG will clash in the Vadodara venue for the first time with their previous meetings coming at the venues in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi. Ahead of GG vs RCB WPL 2025 Match 1, here is a look at the Gujarat Giants vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru Head to head record, stats & results:
