Glenn McGrath, Wasim Akram IGNORED! Ex Australia Batter Picks Jasprit Bumrah As 'Best Bowler'

India star pacer, Jasprit Bumrah has been outstanding in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, leading the wicket-taking charts with 30 wickets across four Tests, just 10 behind second-placed Pat Cummins.

His exceptional bowling performances have earned him praise globally, with the latest commendation coming from former Australian star Darren Lehmann.

Jasprit Bumrah

The 54-year-old rated Bumrah ahead of cricket legends like Wasim Akram and Glenn McGrath. Lehmann called Bumrah the greatest bowler he had seen live and suggested that Bumrah could replace Rohit Sharma as India's captain in the future.

"I presume he (Bumrah) is the next captain when Rohit finishes. He did a really good job in Perth. He is the best bowler I have ever seen live," Lehmann told PTI.

Lehmann, a member of the 1999 and 2003 ODI World Cup-winning teams, stated that although he has faced legends like Wasim Akram and played alongside Glenn McGrath, none of them have made the same impact as Jasprit Bumrah in a single series.

"I have seen Wasim Akram, Glenn McGrath and all but I have not seen a bowler have impact like him in a single series like Jasprit Bumrah has since Mitchell Johnson in 2013-14 Ashes win''.

"This is very similar as Bumrah already has 30 wickets. He has been outstanding to watch. He will do well when he gets a chance to lead India'', he further added.

The inclusion of Jasprit Bumrah in the Sydney Test is uncertain, especially after Rohit Sharma mentioned concerns about Bumrah's workload. However, with only one Test left in the series and India needing to level the score, Bumrah's presence will be crucial for Team India's chances.

With the series locked at 2-1 in favour of the Australians, the Indians have a big task in hand to turn things around. They desperately need a win to keep their hopes of reaching the final of the World Test Championship alive.
