New Delhi, September 1: Glenn Phillips once again underlined his reputation as one of the most spectacular fielders in world cricket, producing a breathtaking one-handed catch during the Caribbean Premier League clash between Trinidad & Tobago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors. The stunning effort came during TKR's revised run chase and proved to be one of the standout moments of an entertaining, rain-affected contest.

Sunil Narine's stay at the crease lasted just two deliveries before Dwaine Pretorius created a crucial opening for Guyana. The right-arm seamer bowled a short delivery, and Narine attempted to attack it with a pull shot towards the leg side. The ball flew off the bat at considerable pace and headed towards deep square leg, where Phillips was positioned.
Phillips immediately took off to his right, trying to judge the ball while running at full pace.

The dismissal came after the match had already been significantly disrupted by rain. Guyana Amazon Warriors had lost two wickets during the powerplay before play was halted for more than 90 minutes. Once the action resumed, Shimron Hetmyer took complete control of the innings.

Hetmyer produced a sensational attacking hundred, bringing up his second CPL century from only 40 balls. His aggressive strokeplay, combined with a valuable contribution from Romario Shepherd, helped Guyana reach 185/5 from their allotted 16 overs.

The rain interruption meant TKR were handed a revised DLS target of 182. They needed to maintain a high scoring rate from the beginning, and Nicholas Pooran responded with an aggressive counterattack. His boundary-laden approach helped the Knight Riders reach 50 in the fifth over and briefly gave them hope of completing the demanding chase.

However, Mohammad Nabi soon shifted the momentum decisively in Guyana's favour. The experienced all-rounder struck three times in quick succession, with the crucial wicket of Pooran among his victims. Imran Tahir then compounded TKR's problems by trapping Justin Greaves lbw, leaving the Knight Riders struggling at 68/5 in the eighth over.

Alex Hales and Akeal Hosein refused to surrender, putting together a valuable 43-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Hales continued the counterattack and brought up his first half-century of the season from just 23 balls, while Joshua Da Silva added three boundaries during the closing stages.

Their late resistance helped reduce the eventual margin, but Guyana Amazon Warriors remained in control throughout the crucial final stages. TKR ultimately fell short of the revised target, allowing Guyana to seal a hard-fought nine-run victory.
