Goa takes overall lead of 240 runs over Jammu

Margao, Nov 12 (UNI) Despite total lead of 240 runs over Jammu and Kashmir, Goa was struggling at the score of 170 for nine in their second innings on the penultimate day of the four-day Ranji Trophy plate 'A' group cricket match at the MCC ground today.

Goa, who started badly in thier second innings, their top batting-lineup failed to sustain and collapsed. Amid the ruins, Shadab Jakati (21) and Ryan Ninan (not out 21) tried hard to add runs in the scorecard. However, Goa's batsmen failed to negotiate the pace attack of the visitors and fell to guiles medium pacer Vijay Sharma, Samiulha Beig and Pranav Mahajan.

Earlier, the visitors resuming at the overnight score of 184 for six in the first innings with Manoj Joglekar with 74 and Vijay Sharma on eight needing 154 runs to surpass Goa's first inning lead made a cautious start, managing to score 267 before all out in 103.2 overs.

Manoj Joglekar's century (121) studded with 13 hits to the fence came off 375 minuts and 250 balls.
