The Year 2023 has been an action-packed year for sports in India. The nation has taken some significant leaps across all sports in various events throughout this year and we have seen sportspersons dominating and flying the Tricolour high across the globe.

India batter Shubman Gill is the most searched sportsperson in India in 2023. The 24-year-old cricketer is also the 2nd most searched person in India this year, just after Bollywood actress Kiara Advani. Gill is also the 9th most searched athlete in the World.

Apart from Shubman Gill, there are six other sportspersons in the top 10 searches in India this year.

Shubman Gill is followed by Rachin Ravindra (3rd) in the list. The New Zealand star broke out during the World Cup 2023 and has been a man trending since then. India pacer Mohammed Shami was the 4th most searched name, whereas Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell sits 7th in the list.

The 8th to 10th places are also occupied by sports personnel, as former England star David Beckham is the only non-cricketing sportsperson to feature in the top 10 searches in India.

The Kiwi player has been ranked 8th among global athletes in terms of search volume on the Google portal. Ravindra and Gill are the only two cricketers who have made the top-10 list.
