Bengaluru, September 8: Come November 7, it will be a day of pride and joy for cricket lovers in Kerala.
On that day, the state will host only its second international cricket match - a T20 international between India and New Zealand at the brand new, swanky Greenfield International Cricket stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.
The venue has already hosted some Ranji Trophy matches and few other events during the last National Games.
The last international match the city hosted was in 1988 when Vivian Richards-led West Indies clashed with India in the seventh one-dayer at the University stadium.
Since then all the one-day internationals held in the state were conducted in Kochi at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium.
