GT Remaining Purse in IPL 2025: Ahead of the mega auction, Gujarat Titans have made calculated moves by retaining five players, including a mix of seasoned stars and promising talents.
The Titans have retained their captain Shubman Gill as well as young batter Sai Sudharsan. Overseas star Rashid Khan, and uncapped players Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan will also be on the GT roster for the upcoming season.

Each team began IPL 2025 with a total transfer purse of ₹120 crore – a 20% increase from previous seasons. After retaining three capped and two uncapped players, GT have spent a significant chunk of that transfer purse even before the mega auction.
The Titans have spent ₹51 crore on the five retained players, ensuring a remaining ₹69 crore for the upcoming auction.
Rashid Khan, one of the best T20 bowlers globally, has been retained at a massive ₹18 crore, a reflection of his match-winning capabilities and crucial role in the Titans' bowling attack.
Gujarat Titans retained Shubman Gill as their second choice, committing ₹16.5 crore to secure their captain’s leadership and batting prowess. As a player who has been consistently strong for the Titans, Gill’s high retention fee underlines his status as a franchise cornerstone.
Sai Sudharsan, a rising talent known for his aggressive style, has been retained at ₹8.5 crore. This allocation demonstrates the Titans’ confidence in his potential to evolve into a future mainstay for the team.
The two uncapped players, Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan, are each retained at ₹4 crore. Tewatia’s finishing abilities and Shahrukh’s middle-order promise make them valuable assets at a moderate cost, allowing Gujarat to preserve flexibility in their budget for further acquisitions.
With ₹69 crore left in the purse, Gujarat Titans have a substantial budget to navigate the IPL 2025 mega auction. This remaining amount offers them the flexibility to target experienced bowlers, particularly in the pace department, after the release of key figures like Mohammed Shami.
Additionally, the Titans might consider bolstering their middle-order options with an overseas batsman or two, creating depth to support their core group.
The Titans’ calculated spending on retentions, particularly on emerging players, allows them room to make impactful buys during the auction. Their strategy reflects a clear vision of blending experience with youth, maximising their budget to strengthen their overall squad depth ahead of the IPL 2025 season.
