Days after opting out of Ireland vs Pakistan series, Irish pacer Joshua Little could not even find a place on Gujarat Titans substitute list for the clash against Chennai Super Kings in match 59 of IPL 2024 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday (May 10).
Little opted for IPL over international cricket even though he could have benefitted from being part of the national team's preparations for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in USA and the West Indies.

The left-arm pacer, who would have been vital for the Ireland team, preferred to continue his stay in India for IPL, where he hardly gets to play. The 24-year-old has featured in only one match for GT this season, and has been dropped despite claiming 4 wickets in that outing.
GT, who are rooted at the foot of the table this season, have chopped and changed their line up very often, and on Friday (May 10), the 2022 champions made four changes to their playing 11.
Apart from Little, GT also dropped Wriddhiman Saha, Vijay Shankar and Manav Suttar with all four of them dropping out of the matchday squad. The likes of Matthew Wade, Umesh Yadav and debutant Kartik Tyagi found a place in the 11.
CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and elected to bowl first in Ahmedabad. Even CSK made a few changes to their playing 11 with Rachin Ravindra returning to the line up in place of Ajinkya Rahane, who is part of the impact substitutes list.
"We will bowl first. Looks a good wicket, to be honest. It's been a chasing ground, so we will look to chase. Pretty much similar to Chennai. We didn't like a red solid wicket much. Pretty relaxed," Gaikwad said at the toss.
"You tend to lose many games in IPL, you have to back everyone and make sure everyone is in a good head space. We had injuries in between, but happy. Rachin comes in for Gleeson."
"Would have bowled first as well, looks a good wicket. There's a 1 percent chance of qualifying, so we are going to try hard for that. The mood is like any other match, we as a team believe in doing the best we can," GT skipper Gill said.
"Will be a good surface to bat on. Will score runs and try to restrict them. Wade comes in for Saha who has a niggle. In order to balance the team combination Kartik Tyagi comes in for Jos Little."
