Hardik Pandya's homecoming turned sour as Mumbai Indians suffered a defeat at the hands of Gujarat Titans on Sunday (March 24).

The Mumbai side started their IPL 2024 campaign with a defeat and Hardik had a tough time at the Narendra Modi Stadium as he returned at his old abode, this time wearing opposition colours.

Hardik Pandya was constantly 'booed' by Gujarat Titans Fans on the night, and then it turned worse for the former GT captain as they couldn't score 43 runs in the last five overs.

Pandya switched Gujarat Titans for Mumbai Indians ahead of this IPL and the fans didn't like it at all. Things further escalated when Hardik replaced Rohit Sharma as Mumbai Indians captain.

The Indian all-rounder returned to competitive cricket for the first time since his injury during World Cup 2023. Pandya will be hoping to shrug off the disappointment but the fans vented their anger after MI's defeat.

This fan believes the success that Gujarat Titans had in the last two years was down to Ashish Nehra.
