GT vs PBKS Toss & Playing 11 Update For IPL 2025 Match 5: Gujarat Bowl First; Punjab Opt For Three Spinners

GT vs PBKS Toss update: Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill won the toss and elected to bowl first against Punjab Kings in match 5 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday (March 25).

After cancelling out each other last season in their away fixtures, a renewed and refreshed Titans and Kings will look for a better finish this year, having finished outside the playoff spots in IPL 2024.

As for team news, there were no injury concerns for both teams heading into the match. However, GT has preferred to pick two pacers and two spinners, while PBKS have picked three spinners. Here is what the captains said:

After opting to bowl first, GT skipper Gill said, "It is a good cricketing wicket. There is some dew here. Just keeping it in mind. Dew is a big factor here. Big targets can be chased down. Preparation has been amazing. We have our bases covered. The bowling attack is good. Very fortunate to play at the biggest stadium in the world. We have four pacers and two spinners."

Meanwhile, Shreyas, the new captain of PBKS, who also would have preferred bowling first said, "I am always someone who loves a chase. Take the challenge. There are so many familiar faces around. There is Ricky. You need unity and synergy in the team. We have got a lot of all-rounders in the team. We are spoilt for choices. Since we will be batting first, we have only one spinner and three seamers."
