GT vs RCB IPL 2026: Bhuvneshwar Kumar Becomes Second-Highest Wicket Taker In Men’s T20s After Chahal
India's seasoned swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar continues to redefine longevity and consistency in the shortest format, closing in on yet another major milestone in Men's T20 cricket. With 350 wickets to his name, he now stands second among Indian bowlers in T20s, only behind Yuzvendra Chahal (391). In a format often dominated by power-hitters, Bhuvneshwar's ability to outthink batters with swing, control, and variations has kept him relevant across generations.
What sets Bhuvneshwar apart is not just the volume of wickets, but the phases in which he delivers. Whether it's the new ball or the death overs, he has consistently provided breakthroughs, often tilting the momentum in India's favour. His rise alongside modern greats like Jasprit Bumrah (347 wickets) highlights a golden era of Indian fast bowling in T20s, while experienced names such as Piyush Chawla and Ravichandran Ashwin remain part of the elite list. As he edges closer to Chahal's tally, Bhuvneshwar's sustained excellence is a testament to skill trumping sheer pace in T20 cricket.

RCB Bowled Out For First Time In IPL 2026
Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru were bowled out for the first time in the ongoing season for a paltry total of 150. The defending champions began the chase on a positive note, racing to 59/2 in the power player at a steady rate of 9.83. However, since then things went downhill for Rajat Patidar's side, and the entire batting lineup fell like a house of cards.
In the middle overs, RCB lost six wickets for just 73 runs, marking one of the worst middle-phase performances of the season. The disciplined bowling, particularly from the seamers, choked the scoring rate while picking up wickets at regular intervals.
GT seamers, especially Jason Holder and Arshad Khand, combining accuracy with subtle movement, were instrumental in breaking partnerships and ensuring there was no recovery. RCB batters faced a lot of problems when it came to length ball, which yielded four wickets for the side, while simultaneously maintaining a tight economy.
The lower order attempted resistance, including a record 9th-wicket stand in terms of balls faced for RCB, but the damage had already been done. The innings eventually folded at 150, marking only the second time across IPL 2025 and 2026 that RCB were bowled out.
