GT vs RR, IPL 2025: Sai Sudharsan, Prasidh Krishna Power Gujarat Titans to Top of the Table
GT vs RR: Gujarat Titans stormed to the top of the IPL 2025 points table with a commanding 58-run win over Rajasthan Royals in Match 23 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on April 9.
It was a complete performance from the hosts, led by Sai Sudharsan's explosive 82 and Prasidh Krishna's clinical 3-wicket haul, as GT notched their fourth consecutive victory of the season.

Put into bat on a red-soil surface, GT piled up a formidable 217 for 6 thanks to a brisk opening stand and consistent acceleration in the middle overs. Sai Sudharsan, who continued his sensational run of form, batted with fluency from ball one. Unlike his usual measured starts, the left-hander launched an immediate assault, racing to 39 off just 22 balls by the end of the powerplay.
He found support in Jos Buttler, whose 36 off 23 balls added momentum through an 80-run partnership. Although Buttler fell to Maheesh Theekshana, GT's scoring rate didn't dip for long. Shahrukh Khan chipped in with a 20-ball 36, while a late burst from Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan saw the Titans smash 30 runs in the final two overs to cross the 200-run mark.
Rajasthan Royals' reply began on shaky ground. Mohammed Siraj and Arshad Khan struck early, removing Nitish Rana and Yashasvi Jaiswal inside the powerplay. Captain Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer tried to revive the chase with some counterattacking strokeplay, but the required rate kept climbing.
RR's hopes hinged on the Samson-Hetmyer stand, which looked dangerous at 115 for 4 in the 12th over. But that's when Prasidh Krishna delivered the knockout blow. He banged one short, and Samson's attempted ramp only found short third. That dismissal triggered a collapse. In his next over, Prasidh dismissed both Jofra Archer and Hetmyer, the latter for a valiant 52, to effectively seal the game.
Though Rashid Khan wasn't among the early wicket-takers this season, he made his presence felt. The Afghanistan leggie sent back Dhruv Jurel and Impact Sub Shubham Dubey, while Sai Kishore quietly contributed with two wickets for just 20 runs in his spell.
It was a disappointing evening for RR, who now sit with three losses from five games. Despite a fiery return to form from Archer with the ball-where he bowled Gill with a searing in-dipper-their middle order faltered under pressure, and the bowling lacked discipline during key phases.
For Gujarat, the win reaffirmed their all-round depth. While Sudharsan swept all the post-match awards for his batting brilliance, it was Prasidh Krishna's timely breakthroughs that turned the game on its head-his efforts proving just as instrumental in yet another comprehensive GT victory.
