GT vs SRH, IPL 2023: Why are Gujarat Titans wearing Lavender Jersey Today?

Gujarat Titans are taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad in a crucial match on Monday (May 15) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

This the final home game for the Titans this season and the IPL 2022 champions are wearing an altered Lavender jersey to cap off their home campaign.

SRH have won the toss and have chosen to bowl first. And as Gujarat Titans prepare to bat, we will see Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha coming out wearing Lavender coloured jersey. But why are the Titans wearing the Lavender jersey instead of their traditional Bluish kit?

Why Gujarat Titans wearing Lavender Jersey vs SRH

Gujarat Titans are wearing the Lavender jersey to support the fight against Cancer. Lavender coloured ribbon is the symbol of all types of cancers and they are in solidarity against the deadly disease.

"We are ready to don the lavender colours this Monday for a special cause. Gujarat Titans cares about the health and wellness of one and all! Join us as we strive to raise awareness against cancer," Titans tweeted on Saturday (May 13).

It will be a new sight for the spectators to see their favourite players in a different jersey, but the gesture shown by the Titans is nothing but laudable.

Gujarat Titans are sitting on top of the IPL 2023 points table, but they require a victory to confirm the top two spots. They are coming into the match on the back of a defeat against Mumbai Indians.

Will the Lavender Jersey help the Titans to seal the top spot? We will get the answer soon.
