Gujarat Titans Celebrate Gujarat Day in Tangaliya Shirts at Team Dinner

Gujarat Titans marked Gujarat Day with a special team dinner on Friday evening, bringing together players, team owners, support staff and management to celebrate the state's rich cultural heritage.

As part of the celebrations, the franchise presented players with specially designed Tangaliya shirts, one of Gujarat's most iconic handwoven textiles. The squad wore the shirts during the evening, showing enthusiasm as they interacted with the craft and expressed admiration for its cultural significance.

Tangaliya weaving dates back more than 700 years and originates from the Dangashiya community. The textile is known for its signature bead-like motifs, often referred to as "pearls on cloth." Traditionally worn during festive occasions, the craft represents Gujarat's legacy of storytelling, resilience and skilled craftsmanship passed down through generations. In recent years, Tangaliya has also earned recognition on global platforms.

The initiative reflects the franchise's Gujarat-first philosophy and highlights its continued efforts to celebrate regional identity while strengthening the bond between the team and the local community.

The Gujarat Day gathering also underscored the franchise's focus on cultural engagement and team bonding, with players actively participating and appreciating the importance of the celebration.

Following back-to-back victories, the Shubman Gill-led side will next face Punjab Kings at home on Sunday in their upcoming IPL 2026 fixture.
