After an incredible IPL 2022 season that saw them win the title, Gujarat Titans went into the next year's competition with great expectations to defend their crown. They had an incredible run in the group stage, winning 10 of the 14 league games and taking first place.
They played the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the first qualifying round of the playoffs, but they were defeated. They didn't let that loss stop them, though, and they triumphed over Mumbai Indians (MI) in Qualifier 2 to advance to the final.
The match in the final came down to the final ball, signaling an exciting competition. But despite their best efforts, the Gujarat Titans were defeated by CSK by 5 wickets (DLS) and were unable to secure the victory. They were unable to win consecutive IPL championships as a result.
The Gujarat Titans were generally thought to be the most evenly-matched squad throughout the competition. Their strength and ability were demonstrated by their outstanding group stage and playoff performances. Even though they lost in the championship game, their entire campaign was excellent.
Shubman Gill won the coveted Orange Cap after proving to be the Gujarat Titans' standout batsman in the 2023 Indian Premier League. With an astounding total of 890 runs in 17 matches, Gill demonstrated his extraordinary aptitude and batting prowess.
Throughout the season, the incredible achievement of scoring three century and four half-centuries was part of this tremendous accomplishment. With a tournament batting average of 59.33 and a career-high score of 129 runs, Gill was quite successful. His strike rate was also an amazing 157.80 for the duration of the tournament, demonstrating his ability to score runs fast and decisively.
