Robin Minz, who was bought by Gujarat Titans (GT) for Rs 3.60 crore, crashed his Kawasaki superbike and got injured in the process. Minz, who is a big fan of MS Dhoni, is safe and currently under observation.

“He lost control when his bike came in contact with another bike. Nothing serious at the moment and he is currently under observation,” says Francis about his son who lives in Ranchi.

The report added that the front half of the bike was severely damaged due to the accident. The Jharkhand-born tribal cricketer suffered bruises on his right knee.

Robin Minz has been coached by Chanchal Bhattacharya, who also mentored the former Indian captain MS Dhoni during his early days. Despite not playing for the senior Jharkhand team at any level, he has been part of Jharkhand's U19 and U25 teams.

Robin Minz made all the right noises ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. Former India cricketer Robin Uthappa described him as the 'left-handed Kieron Pollard.'

In addition to Mumbai Indians, Minz underwent trials with various franchises, including Lucknow Supergiants, Delhi Capitals, and Kolkata Knight Riders. Despite going unsold in the IPL 2023 auction, Minz secured a whopping Rs 3.60 crore.

There was initially a bidding war between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI). Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) also gave a go, but it was Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans (GT) who secured his services at the end.

Robin Minz would be eyeing an IPL debut in the upcoming season which starts from March 22. A toss up between him and exprienced wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha is on the cards.

Gujarat Titans are already dealing with some injury issues of the player. Their pace spearhead Mohammed Shami has been ruled out, and there is cloud cover over the fitness of Rashid Khan as well.
