Guwahati Weather Live Updates: The 70th and final league stage match of the IPL 2024 between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was abandoned due to rain at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday, May 19.
The toss took place after a three-hour long delay and as the two teams geared to play a seven-over per side game, the rain returned again. The officials were finally forced to call off the game, and both the teams had to share a point each.
In the afternoon match today, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by five wickets to snatch second place from Rajasthan. SRH and RR finished the league stage with 17 points each, but SRH finished as the second-placed team and qualified for the Qualifier 1 with table-toppers KKR.

The game was slated to start at 10:45 PM IST but the rain is back, and so are the covers and umbrellas. Long chat between the officials, gloomy and tired faces all around. 10:56 PM is the cut-off time for 5-over game.
KKR have opted to bowl first in a 7-over per side game.

In case the match is abandoned, RR and KKR will share a point each. KKR will finish at 20 points at top, while SRH and RR will have 17 points each after the end of league stage. However, it will be SRH who would face KKR in Qualifer 1 due to a better NRR. The Qualifier 1 will be played on Tuesday in Ahmedabad.

In the afternoon match today, SRH defeated PBKS by four wickets to pip RR and take the second spot. RR desperately need a win in the final league stage match of the IPL 2024 to regain their second spot and book a place in Qualifier 1 alongside KKR.
