Harbhajan Singh comes to Irfan Pathan's rescue after misinformation from Pakistan fans: 'Bolne ki tameez...'

Harbhajan Singh came to his good friend Irfan Pathan's rescue after a fan page on X dedicated to Babar Azam put out a video and misinformed the fans that the former Pakistan captain denied a request for interview from Irfan Pathan.

The video, which is from last year's World Cup in India, shows a journalist following Babar Azam and requesting him for an interview. Babar Azam swiftly walks away without entertaining the person.

'Babar Azam's World' posted the video on X and claimed that the person chasing Babar Azam was the former India all-rounder, who is a broadcaster now. "When @IrfanPathan begs to Babar Azam for Interview and he refused," the caption read.

Harbhajan Singh came across the video and was left flabbergasted by the vagueness of the post. He slammed Pakistan fans for their disrespect towards Indian cricketers.

"Where is @IrfanPathan in this video?? Bolne ki tameez to aap logo ko pehle hi nahi thi. Ab aankho se dikhna bi bandh ho gya kya? Waise bi agar angreji mai sawal pooch liya to pange pad jayenge (You guys lacked manners to speak, now you have stopped watching properly? Anyway, if the question is asked in England, Pakistan players will land in trouble)," he said.

Later, Irfan Pathan also replied to Harbhajan Singh, and wrote, "Inko jhoot bolke REACH chahiye. Ignore maaro Paaji @harbhajan_singh."

Pakistan fans have been very vocal against India cricketers ever since the Rohit Sharma-led team won the T20 World Cup 2024 in June. Pakistan crashed out of the tournament in the first round after losing against India and the USA.

In the ODI World Cup 2023 as well, Pakistan were beaten handsomely by India. The Men in Green failed to qualify for the semi-finals and Babar Azam stepped down from captaincy across formats. However, he was re-appointed captain ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024.

India and Pakistan are currently at loggerheads in the lead up to the Champions Trophy 2025. The ICC event is scheduled to be held in Pakistan early next year, but India have shown reservations against travelling to the neighbouring country on security grounds.
