Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has broken his silence about his strained relationship with MS Dhoni, revealing that the two haven't had a proper conversation in over a decade. Speaking to News18, Harbhajan stated that they interacted briefly during their time together at Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
They played together in the Indian Premier League (IPL) from 2018 to 2020, but their discussions were limited to on-field matters. "No, I don't speak to Dhoni. When I was playing at CSK, that's when we spoke, but otherwise, we haven't spoken. It's been 10 years and more," Harbhajan said.

He added, "I have no reason; perhaps he does. I don't know what the reasons are. When we were playing in the IPL at CSK, that's when we used to talk, and that, too, was restricted to the ground. After that, he did not come to my room, nor did I go to his."
The two legends played pivotal roles in India's historic triumphs in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup. Harbhajan, known for his fiery bowling, and Dhoni, admired for his tactical acumen as captain, were an iconic duo.
However, their personal relationship seems to have faltered over the years. Harbhajan hinted that Dhoni might have his reasons for maintaining a distance but clarified that he has no issues with the former Indian skipper.
"I don't have anything against him. If he has something to say, he can tell me. But if he did, he would have told me by now," Harbhajan added in his conversation with News18. The former spinner also admitted that he stopped reaching out to Dhoni.
He stopped after he saw that he was not receiving any response to his calls. "I only ring up those who pick up my calls. I don't have the time otherwise. I stay in touch with the ones I am friends with. A relationship is always about give and take," Harbhajan said.
He added, "If I respect you, I hope you will respect me back. Or you respond to me. But if I call you once or twice but don't get a response, I will probably only meet you as much as I need to." Despite their differences, Harbhajan has reiterated his respect for Dhoni.
