Harbhajan to face inquiry on Apr 28

Mohali, Apr 26 (UNI) Temperamental off-spinner Harbhajan Singh will face an inquiry committee on April 28 in Delhi following his alleged actions against S Sreesanth after Kings XI Punjab defeated Mumbai Indians in the ongoing IPL tournament here.

Earlier, Kings XI Punjab submitted a formal complaint against Mumabi Indians' captain Harbhajan Singh for his yesterday's actions to the BCCI. match referee Announcing this here today at a press conference match referee Farokh Engineer said, ''All parties have been summoned and fair chances would be given to all in accordance with the International Cricket Council's code of conduct guidelines.'' It may be recalled that Harbhajan Singh had allegedly slapped Kings XI Punjab fast bowler Sreesanth soon after the match was over last night.

Mumbai Indians, led by Harbhajan, suffered their third defeat from as many outings in the ongoing Indian Premier League's Twenty20 tournament.

The former Indian wicket-keeper-batsman Engineer said, ''the complaint made by the managment of the Kings XI has been referred to me by DLF Indian Premier League Chief Commissioner Mr Lalit Modi for immediate adjudication under the ICC Code of Conduct.'' ''I have already started the process and will be summoning all concerned relating to this case, including any video evidence recorded by the host boradcaster namely TWI.

''Since the process has started, I will request the media not to seek any further clarification. I will furnish my report to the IPL Chief Commissioner keeping in view the ICC Code of Conduct and MCC Spirit of cricket which was adopted by the IPL,'' he added.
