‘Doing Everything Except Making A Comeback’: Hardik Pandya-MrBeast Photo Sparks Mixed Fan Reactions

Hardik Pandya has brought cricket, Indian internet culture and global YouTube fame together after teaming up with MrBeast and CarryMinati to recreate his trademark celebration.

The Indian all-rounder joined American YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, and Indian creator Ajey Nagar, popularly known as CarryMinati, for a playful recreation of Pandya's famous palms-out shoulder shrug. MrBeast shared pictures from his recent India visit, with the trio posing together on a cricket field against a scenic backdrop.

The crossover quickly caught the attention of fans, with some hailing the combination of three major names from sport and digital entertainment while others questioned Pandya's priorities as he continues to work his way back to full fitness.

Why Did Hardik Pandya Meet MrBeast and CarryMinati?

The meeting came during MrBeast's recent visit to India, with the world's biggest YouTube creators spending time with several prominent Indian personalities.

Donaldson later shared five photographs from his trip on Instagram, captioning the carousel: "Had an amazing trip to India ❤️."

One of those pictures featured Pandya and CarryMinati, with the three recreating the Indian cricketer's signature celebration.

The meeting brought together three figures with enormous audiences in their respective spaces. Pandya is one of India's most recognisable cricketers, CarryMinati is among the country's biggest digital creators, while MrBeast has built a global YouTube following through his challenge, entertainment and philanthropy-based content.

MrBeast's India trip also included a meeting with Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor, with the YouTuber pictured alongside the actor during the latter's promotion of his upcoming Ramayana project.

According to a Variety India report cited in the source material, MrBeast was also available for live and virtual appearances in India, with reported fees starting at $200,000, or around ₹1.67 crore.

What Is Hardik Pandya's Famous Shrug Celebration?

The gesture recreated by the trio has become closely associated with Pandya since India's 2024 T20 World Cup triumph.

Pandya's palms-out, shoulder-shrug celebration was inspired by the gesture popularised by social media star Khaby Lame. He used it prominently after India's victory over South Africa in the T20 World Cup final in Barbados in June 2024.

The celebration took on an added significance because it came after a difficult period for Pandya, who had faced sustained criticism from sections of Indian cricket fans during his first season as Mumbai Indians captain.

Pandya subsequently brought the celebration back on major occasions. He used it after India's Champions Trophy triumph in Dubai and again after India won the 2026 T20 World Cup final against New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

What began as a response to criticism has therefore evolved into one of Pandya's most recognisable trademarks.

Hardik Pandya x MrBeast Collaboration Goes Viral

The recreation with MrBeast and CarryMinati gave the celebration a new context, with the three personalities performing the gesture together.

Pandya also responded directly to MrBeast's Instagram post, writing: "Nice to meet you, Jimmy. You're a very sweet person."

The photograph quickly circulated across social media, with fans particularly drawn to the unusual combination of India's cricket superstar, one of the country's biggest YouTubers and a creator with a worldwide audience.

One fan described it simply as "Hardik Pandya × Mr Beast × Carry Minati doing the famous HP celebration", while another called the trio "India's biggest clutch player + India's biggest YouTuber + World's biggest YouTuber."

The celebration itself also drew plenty of praise, with reactions including "What a picture!" and fans highlighting the fact that all three personalities had recreated Pandya's trademark pose together.

However, not every reaction was positive.

Some users used the moment to question Pandya's cricketing priorities while he remains sidelined with a calf problem and continues his rehabilitation.

"I think he's forgotten that his main job is to play cricket for India," one user wrote.

Another joked that Pandya was "just out here roaming around and collecting celebrations", while another quipped that he was doing "everything except making a comeback for his team."

The contrasting reactions underline the unusual position Pandya occupies in Indian cricket. His off-field profile remains enormous, but every public appearance is also viewed through the lens of his ongoing absence from the national team.

What Is Hardik Pandya's Injury Status?

Pandya's return to competitive cricket remains uncertain after he experienced discomfort in his right calf during a match simulation in September.

According to the source material, Pandya had completed his bowling, batting and fielding workloads and had gone through a match simulation on September 17 without symptoms. However, he experienced pain in the same calf during another simulation on September 19.

An MRI reportedly showed very mild intramedullary oedema, consistent with right medial tibial stress syndrome, and the simulation was stopped as a precaution.

Doctors have advised bisphosphonate therapy alongside Vitamin D for six to eight weeks. His rehabilitation is expected to restart with low-load exercises before gradually progressing towards running, practice and full sporting activity.

The Centre of Excellence has not provided a return date, leaving Pandya's availability for India's upcoming assignments uncertain.

For now, therefore, the MrBeast and CarryMinati crossover has given fans another viral Pandya moment - even as the bigger question surrounding the all-rounder remains when he will be back on the cricket field.
