The former opener was asked on 'Club Prairie Fire' podcast to pick the India eleven for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 which starts from June 2. Sehwag selected Yashasvi Jaiswal over Shubman Gill to open the innings alongside captain Rohit Sharma.

Virat Kohli found a place at three in Sehwag's India playing eleven, and Suryakumar Yadav got a mention too. Sehwag, who is part of the JioCinema commentary panel for IPL 2024, said he would pick one between Rinku Sigh and Shivam Dube in the eleven.
