All-rounder Hardik Pandya, having secured a notable transfer to Mumbai Indians for the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL), expressed gratitude to Gujarat Titans following the retention window closure.

Pandya left Gujarat Titans to join Mumbai Indians ahead of the mini-auction. GT thanked their former captain for two successful seasons, including winning the 2022 IPL against Rajasthan Royals.

In Pandya's final season as GT captain, they reached the 2024 final against MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings. The Titans bid farewell, wishing him well.

Pandya, on X (formerly Twitter), reminisced about Mumbai Indians signing him at a bargain price in 2015, expressing joy at returning. Notably, his post lacked mention of Gujarat Titans.

Reports suggest a less-than-smooth relationship between Pandya and GT before the last season, prompting discussions for his move to Mumbai. Prior to being GT's captain, Pandya was released by Mumbai Indians in the 2022 mega auction.

During his impactful tenure with GT, Pandya scored 833 runs at an average of 41.65 and a strike rate of 133.49 in the IPL. He also took 11 wickets with an economy of 8.10. Pandya earned the Player of the Match title in the IPL 2022 final.

Following Pandya's departure, Shubman Gill was appointed captain of Gujarat Titans for IPL 2024.
