The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has provided an update on fast bowler Haris Rauf's condition following his recent injury during the match against New Zealand.
Haris Rauf has been a pivotal figure in Pakistan's bowling lineup, known for his express pace and ability to deliver in crucial moments. His presence is considered vital for Pakistan's campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy, a tournament that marks its return after an eight-year hiatus. As hosts and defending champions, Pakistan aims to leverage home advantage and retain the title they clinched in 2017.

The Pakistan pacer suffered an injury during the match against New Zealand and was taken off from the stadium. It was reported that Rauf suffered a Grade 1 abdominal strain and was in doubt for Champions Trophy. And now, PCB has given a huge update on the pacer's injury status.
PCB said that after medical evaluations, including MRI and X-ray scans, Rauf has been diagnosed with a muscular sprain in his lower chest wall. The PCB has confirmed that the injury is not serious, and Rauf is expected to make a full recovery in time for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which begins in Karachi on February 19.
PCB has also stated that 'as a precautionary measure and part of his ongoing rehabilitation, he will not be available for selection against South Africa on 12 February.'
The PCB has announced a 15-player squad for the Champions Trophy, with Mohammad Rizwan leading the team. They will kickstart their campaign in Karachi on February 19 against New Zealand.
