Haris Rauf issued clarification soon after a video showing him trying to beat a fan on the street in the USA went viral on social media. The 30-year-old old cricketer was deeply criticised for his act in the public.
The viral video showed him moving aggressively towards a fan to beat him. Haris Rauf was also seen stopped by his wife and other fans present there. He was also heard abusing the fan whom he thought was from India. However, the young fan himself clarified he hailed from Pakistan.

In his clarification, Haris Rauf said that he would not hesitate to get into such physical altercations if anything is said in front of him to his parents and family.
"I decided not to bring this on social media, But now that the video is out, I feel it is necessary to address the situation. As public figures, we are open to receiving all kinds of feedback from the public. They are entitled to support or criticize us. Nevertheless, when it comes to my parent and my family, I will not hesitate to respond accordingly. It is important to show respect towards people and their families, irrespective of their professions," Rauf said on X (formerly known as Twitter)
In the video which went viral on Tuesday (May 18) afternoon, Haris Rauf was heard questioning the fan he he abused his father.
"Baap ko gaali de raha hai? India nahi hai ye (You are abusing my father? This is not India)."
Haris Rauf finished as the joint-highest wicket-taker for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024. He picked seven wickets in four matches at an average of 14.42 and an economy rate of 6.73. The 30-year-old registered figures of 3/21 against India on June 9.
However, he failed to defend 15 runs in the final over against the USA in Pakistan's opening game of the T20 World Cup 2024. Pakistan lost that match against USA after a thrilling Super Over, and later lost to India as well. India and USA qualified for Super 8 from Group A.
