London, Nov 14 : Fast bowler Steve Harmison, who was persuaded by new captain Kevin Pietersen to be a world beater again, has said that he is fired up in India for revenge.

When England last toured India, Harmison returned home early with shin splints after the Tests and missed the one-day series, which the home side won 5-1, The Telegraph reported.

But the motivations for winning this time exceed simple revenge, following India's victory over Australia and the enticing reek of money from the Indian Premier League.

"India is very excited about beating Australia. I think it will be a good series, they are a fine side and if you leave Sachin Tendulkar out for three one-day games at the start you must have confidence in whoever is coming in.

"The IPL is an intriguing situation because the whole issue is determined by whether the ECB have agreed a window for us to play. It's like the X Factor - you come out here and if you do well you have a chance of playing in the IPL," he said.

"I think everyone would be interested but I wouldn't want to go just for a week as you'd need three just to get the body clock right," Harminson added.

"The way KP went about bringing me back during that week at the Oval, left me feeling I was wanted. It was a warm feeling, a good place to be, so when he rang and said he wanted me to come back for the one-dayers as well, I felt I couldn't say no," Harminson said.

"I could easily have just played for Durham, but the lure of playing for England is there - I miss the big crowd and atmosphere. People said I didn't want to play for England, but I did. It just took being away from it to get my head around it," he added.
