India batter KL Rahul has been enduring a torrid period with the bat. His runs have been few and far between in the last year or so, and in Tests, runs have just not arrived at all.

Rahul has failed miserably in the first two Tests, scoring 38 runs in total in three innings. With his lean patch, there have been criticisms regarding his selection in the team, while an in-form Shubman Gill bench-warming due to his selection.

India will be up against Australia in the 3rd Test in Indore, which starts from March 1. India are already 2-0 up in the Test series. Despite speculations, KL Rahul is still in the team for the last two Tests and both Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid have defended the batter's selection.

Although the Karnataka batter is part of the Indian squad, he lost his vice-captain status as the selectors have opted to release him from his duties as Rohit Sharma's deputy.

India team have already reached Indore and ahead of the match, KL Rahul was spotted at the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Madhya Pradesh along with his newlywed wife Athiya Shetty. The Indian batter tied the knot with Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty's daughter last month and the couple visited the temple and offered their prayers.

With his ongoing trouble with the bat, a visit to the almighty may well be his resort to seek solace. KL Rahul has an average of just 13.6 in Test cricket in the past 12 months. His awful form hasn't affected the Indian team so far though, as Rohit Sharma's troops have prevailed against every opposition so far in 2023. But with suitors waiting in the wings, any further slip can have long-lasting ramifications. The stylish batter has found bizarre ways to lose his wicket and perhaps his latest worship to the God may save him from those, at least he hopes so.
