Abhishek Sharma has managed to etch his name in the annals of Indian cricket as the highest scorer in T20Is for India, after his scintillating knock against England on Sunday (February 2).
Opening the innings, the Punjab-born left-hander reached his century in just 37 balls, marking his second T20I hundred and becoming the second-fastest Indian to achieve this feat.

Abhishek continued his carnage and ended up scoring 135 runs in just 54 deliveries, thus becoming the highest scorer for India in the T20I format. Sharma's special knock comprised of 7 fours and 13 mammoth sixes, helping India to put a huge total of 247 runs.
Abhishek thus overtook Shubman Gill as the highest individual scorer for India, whose unbeaten 126 against New Zealand in 2023 was the highest for India till now.
The Wankhede crowd was treated to a masterclass in aggressive batting, with Sharma's array of strokes leaving the English bowlers struggling. His innings not only showcased his individual brilliance but also reinforced India's depth in T20I batting talent.
