Ahmedabad, March 10: Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green shared the second highest partnership for Australia in visits to India during day 2 of the fourth Test at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Khawaja and Green, who shared a 85-run partnership to take Australia to 255/4 at stumps on day 1, put on a 208-run stand for the fifth wicket, before Ravichandran Ashwin removed the latter post lunch session.
While Khawaja, who scored his maiden hundred on Indian soil, went on to score past 150, Green scored his maiden Test century during the partnership.
The duo came very close to breaking the record till Green's lapse in concentration handed India a breakthrough. Green was dismissed caught behind for 114 when he attempted to sweep a delivery bowled down the legs.
