Highest Powerplay Score in IPL 2024: Dehi Capitals Post Their Best-Ever Total in First 6 Overs

Jake Fraser-McGurk equalled his own record for fastest fifty in the ongoing season as Delhi Capitals posted their highest ever powerplay score in Indian Premier League history during IPL 2024 match 43 against Mumbai Indians on Saturday (April 27).

Fraser-McGurk smashed a 15- ball fifty for an unbeaten 78 inside the first six overs as DC posted 92/0 in the powerplay against MI at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. DC had posted their best-ever powerplay score exactly a week ago when Sunrisers Hyderabad broke the record.

DC had scored 88 for 2 in the first 6 overs in response to SRH's 266 at the same venue. During the first innings Sunrisers posted the highest total in the powerplay when they got to 125 without losing a wicket against DC.

DC had surpassed their previous best of 81/0 from two seasons ago against Punjab Kings at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Now, DC has surpassed their best ever powerplay score twice in the same season, but their latest effort was only the third best this season.

Earlier on Friday (April 26), PBKS posted their highest ever powerplay score during their record run chase against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. PBKS went past a decade old record of their own in the process.

Later on May 4, Royal Challengers Bengaluru posted their highest powerplay score in match 52 against Gujarat Titans. Here is a look at the top 10 highest powerplay scores in IPL season 17:
