PBKS' historic chase against KKR
Punjab Kings' record-breaking chase came in IPL 2024 when they were set a massive target of 262 by Kolkata Knight Riders.
Chasing such a score at Eden Gardens looked nearly impossible, but PBKS produced one of the most explosive batting displays ever seen in the league.
Jonny Bairstow led the charge with an unbeaten 108 off 48 balls and was named Player of the Match. Shashank Singh provided the finishing touch with a blistering unbeaten 68 off just 28 deliveries.
Opener Prabhsimran Singh and Rilee Rossouw also played important roles as Punjab stormed to 262/2 in just 18.4 overs.
The match also set a record for the most sixes hit in a T20 game, with both teams smashing a combined total of 42 sixes.
Punjab Kings' successful pursuit of 262 is not only the highest run chase in IPL history but also the highest successful chase recorded in any T20 match.
SRH's massive chase in 2025
Sunrisers Hyderabad sit second on the list after their remarkable chase against Punjab Kings in IPL 2025.
SRH hunted down a target of 246 by reaching 247/2 in just 18.3 overs. Abhishek Sharma starred with a sensational 141 off 55 balls, including a 40-ball century - one of the fastest hundreds in IPL history.
The chase reinforced how rapidly scoring rates have evolved in modern T20 cricket, where even totals close to 250 are no longer entirely safe.
