Highest Total, Run Chase, Fastest Fifty & More - List of Women's Premier League Records Created in WPL 2025

By MyKhel Staff

After a month's action across four venues and a total of 22 matches, the third edition of the Women's Premier League - WPL 2025 concluded on Saturday (March 15) with Mumbai Indians seeing off Delhi Capitals to clinch their second title in three years.

Harmanpreet Kaur led from the front as Mumbai Indians (MI) got the better of Meg Lanning's Delhi Capitals (DC) for the second time, winning the title clash by 8 runs in a low-scoring thriller at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

WPL 2025 Records List

There were several firsts achieved in the WPL 2025 final as MI's Nat Sciver-Brunt went on to become the first player to cross 1000 runs in the Women's Premier League history, and the English all-rounder, who was awarded the MVP, also became the first to cross 500-run mark in a single season.

The five-team tournament also witnessed several records being shattered or equaled right from the first match of the tournament going into the final game as the third edition saw the first-ever Super Over in WPL history as well as the third hattrick in the league. Here is a look at the WPL 2025 records:

List of Records Broken in WPL 2025

Highest Successful Chase in WPL: In the very first match of the tournament, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pulled off a record chase, beating Gujarat Giants (GG) by 6 wickets as Richa Ghosh and Kanika Ahuja did the unthinkable by powering their team past the target of 202 in Vadodara.

Richa and Kanika dug RCB out from 109/4 to take them across the finish line. Before 202 was successfully chased down by RCB, Mumbai Indians had held the record, having chased down 191 against the Gujarat Giants in Delhi.

Fastest Fifty in WPL: UP Warriorz's replacement signing Chinelle Henry announced her arrival in the Women's Premier League in Bengaluru with a 18-ball fifty, the joint-fastest half century in the tournament's history.

During her knock of 62 from 23 balls, Henry equaled the WPL quickest fifty record held by Sophia Dunkley, who achived the feat during the inaugural edition in the league stage match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium.

Highest Partnership in WPL: Delhi Capitals pair Shafali Verma and Jess Jonassen combined for the highest 2nd wicket partnersip in Women's Premier League with an unbeaten stand of 146 against RCB in Bengaluru.

The duo's stand was also the second highest ever in the league, only behind the 162-run partnership which also featured Shafali and her DC captain Meg Lanning, who shared the record WPL partnership in the inaugural season against RCB in Mumbai.

Highest Total in WPL: UP Warriorz set the new record by posting 225/5 in their final league stage match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Lucknow. Before UP Warriorz, the record for the highest score in WPL belonged to Dehli Capitals, who scored 223/2, also against RCB in 2023.

Highest Individual Score in WPL: The highest total match also saw UPW opener Georgia Voll equal RCB's Sophie Devine's record for most runs scored in an innings by a batter in Women's Premier League. Voll, however, fell agonisingly short of the first century in WPL history.

Apart from the records, there were other individual feats during the recently concluded season as Mumbai Indians' Sciver-Brunt scored most runs in a single edition with 523 runs, while her teammates Amelia Kerr and Hayley Matthews claimed most wickets in a single season with 18 wickets each.
