Rajasthan Royals spinner Yuzvendra Chahal overtook former Chennai Super Kings star Dwayne Bravo's record for most wickets in Indian Premier League (IPL) history during the 2023 season.
Bravo, who is now part of the CSK coaching staff, had surpassed former Mumbai Indians great Lasith Malinga to takeover the crown as highest wicket taker in IPL during the 2022 season.

However, a season later, Chahal broke the record with an 184th scalp in the IPL. The Indian leg-spinner currently has 198 wickets, and is closely followed by three more compatriots, who are also spinners in the list for most wickets in IPL.
Indian veteran spinners Ravichandran Ashwin, Piyush Chawla and Amit Mishra all surpassed Malinga's tally of 170 wickets in IPL 2023. The trio of spinners will have a chance to surpass Bravo's tally of 183 wickets and also catch up on Chahal for the top spot.
Meanwhile, seasoned India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar as well as West Indies spinner Sunil Narine are also in the top 10 alongside Ravindra Jadeja and Harbhajan Singh.
The likes of Rashid Khan, Umesh Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah will look to breach the 150-mark in wickets in IPL 2024. Andre Russell, Sandeep Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Axar Patel, Trent Boult and Kagiso Rabada also will look to add more scalps to their tally.
While injured Mohammed Shami also is on the list, there are also some veteran and retired cricketers that feature in the most wickets list in IPL. Ashish Nehra, Zaheer Khan and Vinay Kumar have all crossed 100 wickets in the cash-rich league.
Jaydev Unadkat and Shardul Thakur are among the pacers closing in on the 100 wicket milestone in the Indian Premier League. Here is a look at top wicket-takers in IPL:
