Hilditch says he's pleased with Ashes selectors' decisions

By Super Admin

Melbourne, Aug.27 (ANI): Cricket Australia's embattled chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch has said that he is pleased with the selection decisions made in the Ashes series and says he has no plans to retire.

"As far as the selection processes are concerned, we had a really good Ashes, generally speaking," Hilditch said yesterday.

Hilditch said his panel conducted a review after any losing series but he was confident their Ashes efforts would be vindicated.

"I have been a selector for a long time. Every time we lose, we have a review. This won't be any different. Any side that is any good looks at how it performed and whether they can get better. The players, coaches and selectors will be doing the same. Is this going to be a dramatic inquisition into the team? I don't think there will be much room for that," the Daily Telegraph quoted Hilditch, as saying.

Hilditch, 52, remains optimistic about Australia's rebuilding program despite the team falling to No.4 in world rankings.

And he says he still loves his job after 12 years on the national panel.

"If you ask me, the future is pretty exciting. It is a great time to be doing what I am doing. It is a very challenging time, a lot of fun, a lot of hard work," Hilditch said.
