In the 2024-2025 season (BBL Season 14), the Hobart Hurricanes clinched their inaugural BBL title in a thrilling final against the Sydney Thunder.

Chasing a target of 184 runs, Hurricanes' batsman Mitchell Owen delivered a historic performance, scoring an unbeaten 108 runs off just 42 balls. His explosive innings, featuring 11 sixes and six fours, equalled the record for the fastest BBL century, achieved in just 39 deliveries. This remarkable feat led the Hurricanes to a seven-wicket victory with 35 balls to spare, marking a memorable chapter in the league's history.

The premier Australian franchise tournament has grown in statures over the years and it promises to continue evolving in coming years. In the upcoming season, the traditional eight teams are expected to continue.

When will Next BBL Season Start?
